This project emerged from my bachelor thesis research on design and art environmental activism. I tried to re-think packaging design using anti-affordances. My concept involved the use of shocking imagery of polluted nature and suffering animals on single-use, non-degradable packaging.
The inspiration came from cigarette pack designs. These use pictorial health warnings to inform smokers about the consequences of their habits. What would happen if the same idea would be applied to non-degradable packaging? Would this make consumers reconsider their choices?
